Why iPhone 6 sucks & don’t buy it? In short, iPhone 7 is coming up real soon. Why bother to buy iPhone 6 anymore? That’s include iPhone 6 Plus. Wait for the next flagship device for this year ~ iPhone 7 (& iPhone 7 Plus). iPhone 6 is better the previous generation iPhone 5s because it has better processor, display and new body design. However, it still does not up to standard set by rival Android smartphones. So come the negative things of the iPhone 6 and why it sucks. Hopefully, upcoming iPhone 7 can improve all these negative points. And fight back Android…
Screen Resolution
Finally, the display is bigger. However, iPhone 6 has an LCD display with resolution of 1334 x 750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi. It is slightly better than HD but nowhere good as Full HD. And the ppi is the same, 326 pixels per inch. Therefore, iPhone 6 Plus comes to rescue with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution at 401 ppi. However, Android smartphone like Galaxy Note 4 already has 2K display screen of 2560 x 1440 resolution. Apple is playing catch up games here.
Same 8 MP camera
Yes, the very same 8 MP camera sensor size on the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and now current iPhone 6. But with bigger 1.5 µm sensor and it has a f/2.2. However, it looks really small when compare to other 16 MP or 20 MP camera module on Android smartphone. And iPhone 6 does not have Optical image stabilization which iPhone 6 Plus has. This is a big down side because OIS will greatly improve video and photo quality in low light environment.
Battery life
Yes, iPhone 6 is thinner than iPhone 5s. Bigger 1,800 mAh battery which is a 230 mAh increase over the iPhone 5s. But it does not enough to power bigger 4.7″ screen. I rather to have bigger battery and thicker body size in order to have longer battery life. Else a power bank is a must have since iPhone does not have removable battery.
Price
Yes… Yes… Yes… Just like every Apple products, iPhone 6 will cost you more money. You will have to pay $199 for the 16 GB variant, $299 for the 64 GB variant and $399 for the 128 GB variant. Price is even higher on unlocked version without a contract.
Lastly, and hopefully upcoming iPhone 7 (or iPhone 6s) will better and does not suck anymore…
