Package Content & Design
Neo Boom comes well-protected. Once taken it out, there are user manual, 3.5mm AUX audio cable and micro USB cable for charging. As usual, do go through the guide to know more about it.
Great build quality for the price. Sturdy plastic housing with metal speaker grill in the front. By the way, it has smooth matte surface that nice to hold and touch. As you can see, there are two 2″ drivers in the front. Vinnfier logo in the middle.
At the back, there is a big and long bass radiator in black colour that you can’t miss. AUX input, USB port, micro SD slot and micro USB port are located on top of it.
All the navigation buttons are located on top of the speaker. Microphone and white LED light indicator (red for charging) in the middle.
4 tiny anti-skid pads at the bottom. Surprisingly, they do provide strong stability to keep the speaker still even on maximum volume.
Performance Result
Outstanding Bluetooth range! Easily becomes one of the farthest Bluetooth devices that I have tested. Yes, it can reach up to 9m with obstacles like wall. Stable connection indeed. And it is almost in-sync between video and audio. Good to watch movie or play games on mobile devices. Lastly, the AUX input is always there for non-Bluetooth devices.
FM radio is working great even without external antenna. Of course, this is depending on your signal reception as well. For local playback, just plug in your USB flash drive or micro SD card. It will start to play your favourite MP3 then. Speakerphone is decent. Others can hear me loud and clear. Of course, I can hear others well too.
Based on specs, Neo Boom can last for 6 hours of non-stop music playback. And requires around 2.5 hours to fully charge. By the way, there is battery life indicator on both iOS and Android devices. Great to know when to charge it.
Sound Quality
Great sound for the price! Balanced toward bright sound signature is what you get. 20W pure power output (RMS) is good enough to blast in a quiet large living room. Peak 80W when you add another one through TWS.
In details, highs are clear and sharp. A little bit harshness on certain tracks. No big deal, no worry. Mids are decent. Both female and male’s vocals sound nice and clear. As for bass, it is good for its size. You can feel the bass bumping here and there when you are close to it. As usual, don’t expect subwoofer kind of bass level will do. In short, it is a pleasure to listen to Neo Boom.
