The best portable video player ~ Galaxy Note 3

Which one is the best portable video player? Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is on top of my list now. Yup, thanks to its 5.7″ Full HD Super AMOLED screen. It easily replaces the new Google Nexus 7 (2013) as the new king. Galaxy S4 is also no match to it. Not to mention the tiny little 4″ iPhone 5S. I love big screen. Then why not Sony Xperia Z Ultra? Its 6.4″ TFT LCD screen is still no match to latest HD Super AMOLED screen. I love true black (once you taste it, you can’t go back). Besides, it is little bit big to carry around like Nexus 7. Galaxy Note 3 is still pocket-able while maintaining comfortable.

What is the best video player for Samsung Galaxy S4? Well, you can say the stock video player because it can play most of the video file types like MPEG4, H.264, H.263, DivX, DivX3.11, VC-1, VP8, WMV7/8, Sorenson Spark and HEVC up to Full HD 1080p. Yes, it is good but not the best because 3rd party video like MX Player Pro can play additional video file types. Example, MOV, RM, RMVB and MKV with DTS codec support…

Any XBMC Media Player fans here? XBMC 12 Frodo is here. XBMC is still the best video player for my budget Asus Eee PC 1215B netbook. It is perfect for AMD Fusion APU E450 CPU and Radeon HD 6320 GPU. And XBMC team supports Android platform officially in XBMC 12.0 – Frodo. Of course, there are other new features like HD audio support, h.264 10bit (aka Hi10P) video software decoding for anime in this release too.

Lock Samsung Galaxy S3 touchscreen & keys during video playback

Samsung Galaxy S III 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED display is good to watch movie, music video, TV series… However, the placement of capacitive Menu and Back buttons are too low and easily being touched while playing video clips. So here is a quick tip and trick to disable capacitive Menu & Back buttons, Home button and touchscreen sensor. Workable on Samsung Galaxy S3 stock video player only though (other video player application like YouTube is not supported).
