Want to increase Samsung Galaxy S III battery life? Undervolt Samsung Galaxy S3 Quad Core Application Processor is one of the ways to do so. Besides Samsung Galaxy S3 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED screen, Quad Core Application Processor is another big battery eater. Undervolting helps to reduce Samsung Galaxy S3 battery usage, and will make Samsung Galaxy S3 cooler (generate less heat) too. Unlike underclock which may not be so efficient in performance / walt ratio. Undervolt surely will improve battery life because it maintains the overall performance speed while lower the battery usage. As usual, you need to install custom kernel for Samsung Galaxy S3 in order to undervolt. Stock kernel does not support it.

And “no update available” prompted when you checked for update manually. No worry, there is another official way to upgrade Samsung Galaxy S3 firmware ~ through Samsung Kies. Basically, just launch Samsung Kies application at PC or Mac. Then plug in USB cable to your Samsung Galaxy S3. Continue the firmware upgrade by follow the onscreen instructions. Still don’t get it? Samsung Galaxy S III does not have much Samsung own applications (bloatware) this time. Just loaded with ChatON, Game Hub, Samsung Apps, S Memo, S Planner, S Suggest and S Voice. Where is the Flipboard that exclusive to Samsung Galaxy S3? Well, there are several applications are not installed by default but you can download them yourself manually. They are Photo editor, Flipboard, MiniDiary, S Baro, Application monitor, My Story, KiesCast, Readers Hub and Family Story. Hmm… I can’t find Polaris Office and Social Hub anywhere. Missing in action?

Download CF-Root for Samsung Galaxy S3

XDA Developer, Chainfire is famous with his CF-Root Kernel for Samsung Galaxy S II and Samsung Galaxy Note. And he develops CF-Root for Samsung Galaxy S III as well. But CF-Root for Samsung Galaxy S3 is not a custom kernel anymore. Chainfire makes it simple by adding SuperSU, ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery and CWM Manager Application only to CF-Root. This makes the whole CF-Root installation easier because you can install CF-Root on your Samsung Galaxy S3 no matter what kernel is being used. No more CF-Root for each kernel version. However, this makes some goodies like insecure adbd (ro.secure=0), custom boot scripts and custom boot animations are not supported. Not a big deal as I just want to have CWM and root access.
