Download zMooth for Android ~ gesture to replace hardware keys

Android HTC HD2 is using hardware keys for home, back and menu function. These hardware keys might have issue if using them too much (luckily mine still okay). So we have Button Savior which is sidebar style software keys. And now another Android application called zMooth comes to save your HTC HD2 hardware buttons. It uses gestures to mimic back, home and menu hardware keys. By the way, zMooth requires a rooted android device.

How to edit root file on Android the free way?

Root Explorer is the best Android file manager to edit root files. I love to use it. However, it is not free and you have to pay to use it. So how to edit root file on Android the free way? Hehe… I found a free solution after searching for quite sometimes. Basically, File Expert + Jota Text Editor will give you the ability to edit root files. File Expert has root access to system folders and files like Root Explorer. But it does not have built-in text editor to modify files. So Jota Text Editor comes to help.

Overclocking is not a stranger to me. I overclocked my old Intel Core2 Extreme quad-core processor QX9650 to 3.6 GHz. And I can overclock my HTC HD2 with SetCPU’s help too. SetCPU is CPU speed tweaking application for Android. In details, it allows control of certain aspects of the Linux cpufreq driver by allowing for overclocking, underclocking and tweaking speeds. It works on most rooted Android 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 builds.

Thanks Nima for reminding me to post this ~ FasterFix. It is an Android application that helps you to set the GPS NTP time settings in your gps.conf file. Therefore, you don’t need to edit it by yourself with Root Explorer.

Titanium Backup is one of the must have Android application. You can backup and restore application, data, setting with it. A great tool for me who like to test several Android builds. However, it is for rooted phone. But it is not a problem for me as most of the Android builds for HTC HD2 are rooted.
