How to unroot Redmi 1S?

We can root Redmi 1S fairly easy. How about unroot Redmi 1S? Basically, the procedure is the same. Just you will need another update file which will disable root access natively. It will bring your Redmi 1S back to original stage again. Root permission tab will be grey out again in Security application.

How to root Redmi 1S?

Root access is a must have for Android devices. That’s what I always say. Xiaomi Android device has root access natively actually. However, it is disabled on stable ROM (enabled on beta ROM). Same apply to Xiaomi Redmi 1S. Just load the Security application, then go to Permission. You will find out that Root permission tab is grey out. Luckily, we can re-enable the root access back on stable ROM. And it is very easy to do so.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S User Guide

There is only a very simple quick start guide bundled along with Xiaomi Redmi 1S. No user manual can be found on the Mi Malaysia website too. Same apply to official Xiaomi China website. No worry, there is a pre-installed user guide in the smartphone. Mine was deleted and cannot be recovered due to a bug (will cover this in the future) in latest Malaysia ROM v36. Seem like the user guide is not in the ROM at all. Anyway, you can find lot of guides in MIUI Forum.

PhilZ CWM Touch for Redmi 1S

I am using PhilZ CWM Touch for quite some time on my Samsung Galaxy devices. I love it. And why not try it on Xiaomi Redmi 1S, right? Yes, you can do so also. By the way, PhilZ Touch is an advanced version of CWM and has lot of nice features. You can use it to install custom ROM, make a full system backup (and restore it) and lot more. However, good stuff does not last long. Yup, Phil is not going to update and support this CWM anymore. But you still can try it anyway…
