You can upgrade Samsung Galaxy S III firmware through OTA method. However, you might not get OTA notification about new upgrade. And “no update available” prompted when you checked for update manually. No worry, there is another official way to upgrade Samsung Galaxy S3 firmware ~ through Samsung Kies. I always use Voodoo OTA RootKeeper as a temporary unroot tool for my Samsung Galaxy S2, S3 and Kindle Fire. Why? OTA RootKeeper will not make root survive OTA on these Android devices. However, I have Google Nexus 7 now. And it is just like other Nexus devices – Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus… It should be able to use Voodoo OTA RootKeeper to protect root access and survive OTA update. But I still have no chance to test it out yet…

HTC One X received 1.28 system update OTA in Europe region last 2 weeks. And HTC One X users with Software number 1.26.707.2 in Asia can enjoy the very same 1.28 system update OTA from now on. Yes, I just got 1.28.707.10 system upgrade notification in Malaysia (Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines HTC One X users should get it too). Hope that this 1.28 system update will improve HTC One X battery life.
