Android 2.2.2 Froyo anyone? NexusHD2-Froyo NAND Android is loaded with the latest Froyo (FRG83G) and is based on stock Nexus One which is fast and clean. And using Tytung r2 oldcam Kernel (supports CIFS UTF-8, Wi-Fi MAC address, Yaffs, Ext2/3/4) based on hastarin r8.6 oldcam. The good news ~ this is ClockworkMod Recovery ROM. You can flash it while on the road. But one thing that come short, it should supports SD-EXT but I can’t find my applications in EXT partition on SD card. Bug?
I don’t have a strong 3G signal at my place. And it used to turn to 2G EDGE when 3G signal is weak. Data connection is broken then and slow with EDGE connection. Network application by Philipp Mangelow manages to help to set ‘WCDMA only’ on certain Android ROMs with EVO kernel where I cannot set ‘WCDMA only’ in connection settings.
Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROM for HTC HD2 is not perfect like Android 2.2 Froyo. But you can use Android 2.3 Gingerbread keyboard on Android 2.2 Froyo now. And you can install Android 2.3 Gingerbread Nexus S Live Wallpapers on Android 2.2 Froyo too.
Android 2.2 Froyo on HTC HD2 cannot be done without help from the developers. Thanks to them. We are able to use Android on our lovely HTC HD2. Kernel is the heart of operating system, so getting the right one is very important. There are 2 main kernels ~ Hastarin and MDJ Kernels. Both of them are great and you can’t be wrong to use anyone of them.
While waiting for MDJ FroYo Glacier v2.0, another xda-developer, motoman234 came out another version based on T-Mobile myTouch 4G. It is a nice Android HTC HD2 ROM to try out while waiting for Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROM. Most of the things are working and you might need install Superuser application to gain root access for your applications. And I just noticed that the camera has face detection function (might be ported from HTC Desire HD).
