Set ‘WCDMA only’ with Android Network Application by Philipp Mangelow

I don’t have a strong 3G signal at my place. And it used to turn to 2G EDGE when 3G signal is weak. Data connection is broken then and slow with EDGE connection. Network application by Philipp Mangelow manages to help to set ‘WCDMA only’ on certain Android ROMs with EVO kernel where I cannot set ‘WCDMA only’ in connection settings.

MarketEnabler ~ Let you access other countries’ Android Market

MarketEnabler is a must installed application for non-US Android users. MarketEnabler lets you access other countries’ Android Market by faking your phone location. Android Market is separated into regions (country and carrier specific) and some applications are just enabled for a specific country and not available to the other countries. For example, Malaysia does not have paid applications in their Android Market. And some of the applications like Google Maps does not listed as free application too. But MarketEnabler solved it and pop up most of the application (still no paid application tab thou). And not sure we can buy any application in US Android Market with Malaysia credit card or not too…

Yes, I love Android on HTC HD2. I cannot play DivX, Xvid, MKV, RMVB, FLV video on Windows Mobile 6.5. Even with CorePlayer or TCPMP video player help, I still cannot play Real Media and MKV video format. However, VPlayer for Android does play those video files for me. And most of all ~ it is FREE!!!

How to copy / backup Android .apk file?

In the search of the best Android build on HTC HD2, I need to try lot of different Android build. However, I face a problem that slows me down ~ download application from Android Market every time on new build. How to backup Android .apk file? I want to make a copy of the downloaded application locally. So that I don’t need to download them again and again using slow Internet connection.
