Package Content
Everything comes well-protected in a large package. Take your time to unpack it. For accessories, there are IR remote control, AUX cable, optical cable, several screws and user manual.
Followed by two 36W power adaptors. One for soundbar and another one for subwoofer.
Build Quality & Design
Outstanding build quality for the price. Stylish yet simple in design. Not a long soundbar with width lesser than 27″ monitor. Yes, you can place it under the PC monitor easily.
The is metal speaker grill in the front. Within it, there are two 2.5″ mid range drivers, two x 1″ tweeter and one bass reflex port. 30W output power (RMS) in total.
The rest of the stuff can be found at the back. HDMI ARC, coaxial, optical, AUX, USB port and DC input are there. That’s all.
A slim and tall subwoofer. It is loaded with sturdy MDF wood as housing. Comes with 5.25″ speaker driver on the right and bass reflex port in the front. Having 30W output power (RMS) in total too.
One of the benefits of the wireless subwoofer, you can place it anywhere that you prefer. In addition, you can get even more powerful bass impact by placing close to you.
Performance Result
Excellent Bluetooth performance! It can reach up to 7m with obstacles like wall. Furthermore, it has almost no lag between video and audio. That’s good for playing games and watching movie on your smartphones. For non-Bluetooth devices, AUX and digital connections are always there for you.
Always use digital connections when possible. They have the cleanest audio quality and everything will be processed by the speaker DSP itself. So it does not affect by the media player at all. Most of the TV, game consoles and TV box support it nowadays. Of course, AUX connection is available as the last resource. Don’t forget the USB port for MP3 songs too.
60W pure output power (RMS) can fill up a large and quiet living room. For the best audio experience, try to stay as close as possible to the soundbar. And place the subwoofer close to you too. You can feel more bass then.
Sound Quality
SonicGear Reference Series never let me down. Yes, this applies to SonicBar 600HD. As usual, excellent audio quality for the price. You can tune the audio to match your taste through the 3 EQ modes – music, movie and dialog. Just pick the best one for you. Personally, music is the best for me. Movie has treble slightly reduced. Lastly, dialog has bass reduced and boosted the treble a bit.
Thanks to bass and treble volume level controls. You can further adjust the sound signature. There are 5 levels up and 5 levels down for both of them. The LED light indicator will blink when adjusted. That’s all. Personally, I increased 3 levels of treble and leave the bass as default. Note – don’t over push the subwoofer. You can actually feel the bass wave coming out from the bass reflex port.
For details, the highs perform very well. Crips and clear. All the musical instruments can be heard clearly. Thanks to the dedicated tweeters. The mids are well-tuned as well. You can enjoy natural and nice vocals for both female and male. The HD audio built-in DSP does a great job no doubt. As for lows, deep and powerful for its size. Enjoy much impactful bass by placing the subwoofer close to you. In short, it is a pleasure to enjoy games, movie and music on SonicGear SonicBar 600HD.
