Never buy smartphone from poor support manufacturer!!! Yup, LG Optimus 2X, the world’s first dual-core Smartphone is still powered by Android 2.2 Froyo. Not getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread update yet. And official no Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update also…
LG smartphones are not bad at all. In fact, they are good in hardware specs. But the software support provided by LG is really slow and bad based on the Facebook’s comments. That’s one of the reasons that I don’t buy LG smartphone. And I keep myself away from my wish to get LG Optimus LTE LU6200 with 720p HD-IPS LCD screen when it available for international market. Luckily, LG Optimus 2X owners still can get Android 2.3 Gingerbread update with unofficial ROM like CyanogenMod and MIUI. Else it is really a waste of such nice hardware…
This kind of issue won’t happen on Apple iPhone. Apple still provides OS upgrade for 2 years old iPhone 3GS. Apple fans will be very happy here. But one negative, you can’t downgrade OS once you upgraded (unless you saved SHSH blob). iPhone and iPad is well known for its powerful GPU which I like it very much. Too bad that iPhone 4S still using the small 3.5″ screen. Else I will get one since I am a hardcore gamer. Sure to get next generation iPhone 5 when the screen has at least 4″.
Windows Phone 7… For me, it is like a combination of Android and iOS. WP7 should get the best of the 2 worlds. But I don’t see it that way. The WP7 hardware specs are 1 generation older than Android phone and iPhone. Example, latest Nokia Lumia 800 is still using Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8255T chipset. Not much applications and games in Marketplace is another downside…
As for Android smartphone, you can’t go wrong if you get it from manufacturer that produces Google Nexus phone like HTC (Nexus One) and Samsung (Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus). They are the first manufacturers that have the access to the latest Android OS. And Motorola might be the one that going to develop the next generation Google Nexus phone since Google acquired Motorola Mobility.
So which smartphone manufacturer do you prefer?
