Package Content
Pulsefire Dart comes well-protected. Once opened, you can find the gaming mouse itself, USB receiver, USB cable adapter, USB-C to USB-A extension cable, support info card and multi-language quick start guide. That’s all.
Design & Build Quality
Excellent build quality for the price. Solid plastic housing with smooth matte surface. Perfect for right-handed with great ergonomic. Slightly large in size that suitable for grip types like palm and claw styles. Fingertip mode is possible too if your hand is big. Every button and scroll wheel can be accessed easily. In addition, the padded leatherette grips on both left and right give you better control of the mouse. 3 glide pads at the bottom. Finally, the long 1.8m cable helps to extend the wireless signal range with the included USB wireless adapter. It can be used directly as wired mode and charge the mouse as well. By the way, do check out all the photos for details.
Software
Pulsefire Dart works smoothly without software. Just plug and play in Windows PC will do. However, you are not getting the most out of it. So there comes HyperX NGENUITY – a software that lets you customize it. Mouse battery life status is there too.
First of all, you can set up the light effects that you want – solid, cycle, breathing and fade. Animation speed can be adjusted too. The same apply to opacity. All 6 buttons are configurable. The main 2 left and right mouse buttons are limited to left or right click. The rest 4 buttons can be assigned to whatever macro, mouse/keyboard function, multimedia and Windows shortcut that you prefer.
DPI settings from 200 to 16000 DPI with 50 DPI increments. Set the preferred colour for each DPI value too. Highly flexible I must say. Lastly, you can set the polling rate like 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz or 1000HZ. Everything will be saved on the onboard memory in the end.
Performance Result
PixArt PMW3389 optical sensor performance is outstanding. Period. Accurate, fluid and responsive are what you get. Based on my tests, it is working well on multiple surfaces including slightly shinny and reflective ones. I love optical sensor that is located at center of the mouse. Excellent as no new learning curve is required. In addition, the Lift Off Distance (LOD) is very low. Mouse pointer stops moving once you lift up a bit only. That’s great for FPS gaming no doubt. With the correct DPI settings, you can experience better gaming like never before.
As for ergonomic, it fits perfectly well on my right hand. Best for medium to big size hand by the way. Pulsefire Dart is slightly heavier, wider and taller than usual ones. Do take note. Buttons are responsive and feedback is good too thanks to durable Omron switches. I love the main left and right buttons with split-button design. It will register button click no matter where you clicked on it. Certain mouse only registers the top part of the button. Not for Pulsefire Dart. Yes, never miss any shot on the enemies from now on.
Scroll wheel has excellent grip and step control. Great for changing weapons correctly. Never face over or miss out issue. But due to that, you may not fast scroll website during Internet surfing. As for click, it is great. Do take note that it does not have tilt function. Thumb buttons are working great as well.
Pulsefire Dart performs like a wired mouse thanks to fast and stable 2.4GHz wireless connectivity. 1ms response rate is what you get. Furthermore, no wire to block your mouse movement. That’s great! Its battery can last for 50 hours on a single charge (up to 90 hours without LED light). And the best part – you can charge it through Qi wireless charger. Or cable of course. Self-charging is fast too.
