- HyperX for this HyperX Alloy Origins 65 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Package Content
Alloy Origins 65 comes well-protected just like other HyperX products. There are mechanical gaming keyboard, HyperX-designed ESC keycap, HyperX-designed spacebar, detachable braided USB cable, HyperX keycap puller, support info card and multi-language quick start guide in the package.
Design & Build Quality
Outstanding build quality! Period. It is loaded with sturdy full aircraft-grade aluminum body housing. Compact in size but does weight some. The 65% form factor frees up more space for mouse movement than a tenkeyless keyboard. There are dedicated arrow keys, page up/down, home and delete keys. By the way, keycaps are double shot PBT with textured surface. Some come with side-printed secondary functions. Lastly, no light indicator but the Caps Lock will have static colour when turned on.
There are high quality anti-skid pads including 4 on keyboard legs at the bottom. The keyboard feet have two-step adjustments for three different angle settings at 3°, 7° and 11°. And don’t be fooled by the small anti-skid pads, they do provide strong grip and stability.
Here are the USB-C port and keyboard feet. You can see the super bright LED lights on the switches too. FYI, this is the highest height setting at 11°.
And here is the 7° mode which I prefer.
Yes, special custom Paper Rex key caps with HyperX. Attractive, right?
Software
Unleash more power with HyperX NGENUITY software. A very useful tool to personalize all your HyperX devices. For example, adjust the lighting effects, animation speed, brightness and so on. Up to 3 profiles can be stored on the onboard memory.
Take your time to setup the best combo for you. Once everything is done, HyperX NGENUITY is no longer needed anymore. Everything is stored in the keyboard onboard memory. You can take Origins 65 with you on the go easily.
Performance Result
Yeah… The quietest linear switches that I have ever tested. HyperX Red performs very well. Fast and responsive. In addition, it is 100% anti-ghosting and N-key rollover supported. Every single key that is pressed will be registered correctly. Furthermore, the Windows key is disabled once Game Mode is enabled. You can also disable other combo keys like Alt + Tab, Alt + F4, Shift + Tab and Ctrl + Esc as well. No worry about accidental interruption during intensive gaming anymore.
Even with 65% form factor, you still can access a lot of function keys. All the secondary functions are printed on side of the keycaps. Just press FN key and the function key that you want will do. An additional key press but you have a lot more room for your mouse in return.
Enjoy super bright and colourful lighting effects! All thanks to exposed LED design. Smooth and nice animations too. They are bright enough to use during the day. Outstanding in low light environment. Rest assured that they will level up your gaming experience.
