Finally, I found HTC Rezound benchmark based on per-production Verizon HTC Vigor. I keep following HTC Rezound specifications because it will be the first HTC smartphone with 4.3″ 720p HD resolution display. Having 720p HD (1280×720) on 4.3″ display == ~342 ppi pixel density. The display quality should be better than iPhone 4 / 4S retina display (~330 ppi pixel density) and Samsung Galaxy S II Super AMOLED Plus (~217 ppi pixel density). And might even better than Galaxy Nexus / Samsung Galaxy Note which using PenTile HD Super AMOLED. Anyway, after seeing HTC Rezound benchmark score. HTC Rezound is not my cup of tea anymore…
Around 2500 Quadrant score? (link) Look like it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 MSM8260 with Adreno 220 instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 with Adreno 225 that I was hoping. Dual-core Krait is built on 28 nm technology which has lesser power consumption and better Adreno 225 GPU. As a gamer, I don’t think that Adreno 220 has the power to perform well at 720p resolution since it is already weak at qHD (960×540). Look like HTC does not go well in year 2011 with HTC Sensation series and HTC EVO 3D (I planned to buy this too previously). Their specifications and performance are lower than Samsung Galaxy S2. Added Beats Audio does not help much.
Hmm… Hopefully, HTC can fight back in year 2012 with more powerful Snapdragon S4. Else it is the year of Samsung (Galaxy S3) and Apple (iPad 3 and iPhone 5) again…
