How to install Android applications and games with .apk file format on Samsung Galaxy Note II? Besides getting Android applications and games from Google Play Store, you can get 3rd party Android applications from Internet (example, XDA Forum). All of them are in apk file format. Same apply to applications and games that backup with ES File Explorer. You will get “Install blocked ~ For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not obtained from Google Play” when try to install them. No worry, there is a way to install Android applications and games in apk format on Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
How to install Android applications and games apk on Samsung Galaxy Note 2?
- Go to Settings.
- Select Security.
- Check Unknown sources ~ Allow installation of non-Market apps.
- Then select OK.
- That’s all.
You can use built-in file explorer (My Files) to install Android applications and games in apk format on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 after enabled that.
Note – install untrusted apk files might make your device and personal data vulnerable to attack by those installed applications.

I enabled 3rd party apps int he security menu, but the program just has 1 button “Launch Hidden Settings” and clicking does nothing. I looked around, but couldnt find anything to actually do soemthing
Hmm… Try to consult Samsung Support in this case.
never mind… it was in the menu key inside the program
Sir,
Thanks for the instructions…. I did 1.. then 2.. then 3.. then 4?? where is the OK button???
Then after than how do I get the .apk file to the phone and where does it go??
No OK button is okay as long as it is enabled.
Copy apk file from PC to phone (any folder that you prefer).
Thank you – OK… the .apk is called Tunes Control and it “should” allow me to control Media Monkey from the phone. So best Make a new folder and copy it in??? Is that it?
Yes, something like that.
Jayce – thank you.
I connected the Note 2 to the PC with a cord. I could not make a new folder in the phone so I copied it to Phone/Application.
I double clicked on the .apk file – nothing. I looked on the apps page – nothing. I read the Quick Start Guide – nothing. I even copied it to Phone/Applications/SMemo – nothing.
Is there something you are not telling me??
Use phone built-in file explorer (My Files) to install it after copied.
Mate – thanks… but where is the file explorer (My Files)
In phone’s Apps.
Thank you…. I found it… now the programme has loaded….lets see if I can get it to work
You have been GREAT….thanks
