Yes, we can make full system backup of Amazon Kindle Fire now. Thanks to TWRP 2.0 Recovery. One of the TWRP 2.0 Recovery features ~ full system backup and restore with Nandroid. First of all, you need to install TWRP 2.0 Recovery on Kindle Fire in order to use this feature. TWRP 2.0 Recovery lets you select partitions (system, data and boot by default) to backup. Personally, I prefer to backup all so I include recovery, cache and .android_secure too. And enable compression for the backup as well. Just follow below step by step video guide to make full system backup of your Kindle Fire.
Step by Step Guide
- Power on Kindle Fire.
- Press power button until you get orange colour power light.
- TWRP 2.0 Recovery will be loaded then.
- Select Backup.
- Check all the partitions that you wish to backup.
- Check Enable Compression (Requires more time) if you wish too.
- Finally, select Backup now.
- That’s all.
Note – TWRP 2.0 Recovery will store your backups at SDCARD\TWRP\BACKUPS\0000000000000000 folder based on backup date and time.
Okay, make sure that you do full system backup of your Kindle Fire from time to time. You don’t want to lose anything important, right? And to make Kindle Fire has more disk space. I copy these backups to PC then delete them from Kindle Fire. You might to do so too. Copy them back when you need to restore.
after backup, how to exit the TWRP ??
Reboot.
If I mess up during the installation of a new ROM, how do I use the backup?

Jayce,
I was given a Kindle Fire that will only boot into TWRP. It tells me that there is no operating system and of course no backup. everything was wiped. Is there a way to install operating system and get it back operating?
Hi bill, just install custom ROM with TWRP. You can find several ROM at my blog here.
