There are EDUP EP-AC1621, micro USB 3.0 cable, 4 removable antennas, mini CD driver and user manual in the package. Build quality is decent with plastic glossy housing. There is a WPS button in front of EDUP EP-AC1621 as you can see. It is also acted as LED light indicator when connected to network. The micro USB 3.0 port is located at the bottom. And the long cable is enough for you to connect desktop PC that located on the floor. Finally, the 4 long and powerful antennas are able to help you get connected no matter where you are.
Performance Result
No manual driver installation is needed in order to use EDUP EP-AC1621 with Realtek RTL8814AU chipset. Yes, Windows 10 helped me to install proper driver correctly. Surely, plug and play here. You can also download latest Windows, Mac and Linux driver from EDUP website as well.
1300 Mbps on 5GHz is not a dream anymore. Yes, no issue to do so with Xiaomi Wireless Router Pro. And up to 600 Mbps on 2.4GHz. Wireless range is outstanding thanks to high performance 4T4R 6dBi antennas. For your information, tests were done in kitchen at ground floor that is the farthest distance from wireless router that located at middle 1st floor. My laptop with wireless N network card manages to get up to 18.5Mbps on 2.4GHz. EDUP EP-AC1621 is able to reach 195Mbps there. And still able to transfer file with 11MB/s while laptop reach 2MB/s only. Excellent wireless range no doubt.
147 Mbit/s on 2.4GHz is the top performance that you can get from N600 device based on speed tests from iPerf3. EDUP EP-AC1621 performs very well here. On the other hand, I am also getting the same result for 5GHz AC1300. Hmm… It should be much higher at around 450 Mbit/s but that’s not what I got. I suspect sometime wrong with iPerf3 result.
Result of 33MB/s speed by reading files from Xiaomi Wireless Router Pro proves that iPerf3 result indeed inaccurate. It should have a least 264 Mbit/s bandwidth on 5GHz connection. Else it can’t achieve 33MB/s file copy rate. However, it does not perform as AC1300 but AC866 only. Nonetheless, it is still more than enough for normal daily usage as 4K movie ISO is around 70 Mbit/s.
