MIUI lovers, today is your lucky day. MIUI team released official MIUI ROM for Samsung Galaxy S II at last. Of course, some of you already taste the unofficial version of MIUI ROM on Samsung Galaxy S2. But this one is developed specific for Samsung Galaxy S2 and not porting from other builds. So it should be better, faster and much more stable. Why not give it a try now? Enjoy MIUI’s better experience and richer themes…
The version that I tested was v1.10.28 (development). It is based on latest Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread. One thing to take note, the official MIUI ROM does have English language as selection. But you still can see Chinese characters in some applications. And it is in Chinese language right after you flashed it. So only install official version if you can read Chinese. Else wait for unofficial English version MIUI ROM from MIUI UK.

Hi Jayce,
Can I use the CWM to flash this rom? What I saw from the MIUI official site to flash this rom quite complicated…
I have installed the ROM, so far the data mode failed to work, but the wireless connection works fine. Do you have any experience on the failure of the data mode?
Thanks.
You need to set APN settings yourself. https://www.jayceooi.com/2011/01/20/apn-settings-for-android-to-enable-internet-mms/
Thank you. I tried to install titanium backup, then launch it, but it prompts that cannot acquire root privileges?
Is this ROM rooted?
Thanks.
Yes, it is rooted. But I do face issue with certain apps like ShootMe that require root access too. Maybe update SuperUser to the latest version might help.
I found that it required to restart the phone after installed titanium backup. Then it works fine. But I just could not restore the contact and messages from titanium backup, I was suspecting that I was using 2.3.4 before upgrading to this ROM, which was built in 2.3.7. Maybe a version clash?? I not sure, cos after restore, contact and messages still empty, and worse still, the OS crash. At the end, I give up and restore to the initial backup.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi,
I am in India. I have SGS2. This is my first android. I have read your posts here but I’m confused at the number of choices. At present it is on XWKF3 and baseband DDKE4.
Would you please suggest a ROM that has minimum bloatware? I will be using Email (Exchange), Facebook, Gmail, Wifi tethering, USB tethering on 3g/H+ network.
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! I read through the posts on the link.. I noticed a mention to data wipe ๐ (Sorry I’m not a techie..) I am not searching for a tool to backup my apps and settings. Is this ROM rooted? I have rooted using S2root. Will it remain?
Yes, it is rooted. All previous installed apps and settings will be deleted after wipe…
Thanks. correction to my previous post. I am now searching for a tool to backup apps. I am testing titanium backup… Thank you for your suggestions…
Hi Jayce,
I rooted my S2 following the link http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-phones/how-to-root-your-samsung-galaxy-s2-50004972/. I am now unable to install cwm. when i reboot into recovery, it fails while reading update.zip. (e:failed to verify whole-file signature) I have read many users have faced this issue but i don’t find a solution anywhere. Do you think this is because of rooting using S2root? please help….
Thanks
Ravi
I don’t think S2 Root includes CWM. Please use CF-Root.
Okay, here it goes….. S2 root does not allow CWM and unrooting does not help. I did a data wipe (After backing up everything with titanium backup) and then rooted using cfroot. This time, it worked like a dream ๐
My G2 is now working on checkrom. Quadrant shows 3600… not sure why…
Thanks for the help Jayce…….
Have u try this rom.
Yes.
if i came from this CheckROM RevolutionHD rom then want to flash into miui rom, what i need to do? Do i need change the kernel or anything?

Make sure that Titanium Backup is allowed in SuperUser.
thanx…
1) what about the CWM. i dont see the icon .
2) During i setup my APN settings and then save it but the phone required me to fill the MCC box.. my using celcom, any idea with that
@Boy (Malaysia):
1. CWM Manager is not included in this MIUI ROM. But you still can access to CWM (boot).
2. Put MCC: 502 MNC: 19
Thank you so much…
Thank u so much..
How to change the camera save location coz my camera save the pics into the sd card
Not sure. You need to find out yourself because I am back to CheckROM RevolutionHD ROM. ๐
Hi Jayce,
This ROM seems good (since it’s using android 2.3.7 and is by MIUI) but i feel like the Checkrom RevolutionHD ROM is a hard ROM to beat at the moment. Haha. And IMO, KitchenPro is awesome. However, one of the theme i used (Gingerbread special edition v2.2) forced close my alarm clock. So i restore back to the original theme. Using SiyahKernel v2.1 btw.
I think i might wait for a “stable” stable cyanogenmod ROM before moving on from this ROM.
Im sorry, i dont know where to comment this,
is there any news or custom Roms/modification for the I9100G?
As far as I know, no I9100G custom firmware / ROM yet.
Hi Jayce, I been used miui .But now I had to switch to other rom ,b’cause Miui doesn’t support HDMI out put device .May I know did Miui improved this issue or not ๐
(I’m waiting for this, so that I can return to my flavored MIUI rom again)
Thz for reply & have a nice day.
I also wish that I know. Only if I have the TV out adapter. Still haven’t got mine yet. ๐
hey frd
WHY youtube app ND HD video not working…….. ????/
Sorry, no idea…
Hi, I just installed the MIUI 2.3.7 on a Nexus One and noticed that the calendar is in chinese language. Can that be changed?
How about the version for SGS2? i would like to install it there too but i cant handle chinese characters.
Download the unofficial English version.
Hi Jayce,
When i install this rom and reboot, when reach main screen, it keep pop out a dialog box say that android a score is not responding… Is this a wipe out rom? I need to clear cache and user data to use it?
Wipe it.
but after wipe it i cant get back the superuser right? then no more root access?
MIUI ROM has root access by default.
but when i try restore from titanium backup, it keep say root access fail… busybox not install…
Please consult MIUI ROM chef then. ๐
ok,thanks~
Hi Jayce,
I’m using S2 2.3.3, after I did CF root and wipe all user data and partition then flash to MIUI 2.3.7. after that I can’t connect to KIEs cos all my backup are there.
Is there anyway to reconnect to KIEs? or did I miss any step if this happened?
I did tried reinstall and reflash MIUI, all not working.
Thanks.
Merry X’mas and Happy New Year.
Stewart
Samsung Kies does not support custom ROM.
Install back official firmware.
You should use Titanium Backup since your phone is rooted already.

Hi
A quick question i installed the latest miui official rom 2.1.6 from the miuiandroid.com website released a few days ago, previously i had cwm manager 2.0 installed on my previous rom and i would like this in miui, if i flash the same cf root as i did with the previous rom will it conflict with this miui? Im thinking if i flash it with mobile odin i will get cwm manager back but then im worried it will clash or something might go wrong or can anyone suggest how or what i can do so i can restore and make nandroid backups with miui.
Thanks in advance for your help
Amit
Just boot into CWM directly.

Hi Jayce,
That i can do thank you and i get the blue recovery, however some of my apps were supported by the the cf root kernel and now there not compatible Just 2 questions and I really thank you for your help even though i contacted the developer of those apps im just asking your expertise advice so:
1. Can i flash that same cf root that i used to flash the stock rom with in this miui rom v 2.1.6 so i get that same cf root kernel back or will it be a problem for this miui rom?
2. How can I backup an existing kernel which i can then flash again using mobile odin, if anything goes wrong?
1. Not sure. I did not test CF-Root kernel on MIUI ROM before.
2. Sorry, don’t know how to backup kernel.
do you know how to change the language from china to english?
