Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM on Amazon Kindle Fire is not perfect yet. Can’t use it as daily ROM. So I am using CyanogenMod 7 ROM on my Kindle Fire now. But I still want to have the ICS feel. So what should I do? Install Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet Theme on CM7 Kindle Fire. It does not have ICS features but will make my Kindle Fire looks like using ICS ROM (almost)…
This Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet Theme should work on any Android tablet that runs CM7 ROM. It is working fine on my Kindle Fire. Enjoy ICS…

Hey jayce, how can I disable the fullscreen button on my kindle fire? I’ve noticed that you dont have the button to hide the navigation bar at the bottom.

Hi Jayce, I was keen on the ICS look and installed a launcher (syndicateapps ICS 4.0) on my rooted Kindle Fire, stock v6.2.2 rom; like an idiot I ticked ‘Set to Default’ only to get “The application ICS 4.0 Launcher (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly”.
Force close just loops round to the same screen.
I can access my KF with adb but haven’t able to find the file I need to edit which will remove the default. I can also get into TWRP
Any advice appreciated.
Try factory reset in TWRP.
That would have worked but somebody else I asked came up with the idea of using TWRP to install the google apps which include the GO launcher. This cleared the launcher default, allowing me to get into my KF without having to reset everything.
Hey J.. I downloaded the ICS theme, installed… but now I lost my soft buttons. how can I get them back!
Lost the menu and pull “up” status window too!

Settings – CyanogenMod settings – Tablet Tweaks – Choose soft-buttons.

Thanks! That and a reboot seemed to do it!
