Jayce: This firmware good enough for sgs2? what problem or effect when i install this 1?
Hey Jayce… Have you tried this Firm… I installed the 4.0.3 earlier (Dont remember Firm)… Battery life was very bad…. So moved back to 2.3.6… Can you please confirm… whats working and whats not working with XXLP2… It would be great help…..
Many Thanks….
Nope. Please refer to other people impression at XDA. π
No idea. I did not try it personally.
Tried it… the touch wiz still laggy and i’ve got plenty FC when browsing the internet…. switch back to 2.3.6…*sigh*
Hi Jayce, how do I downgrade from this firmware to official 2.3.6 gingerbread (Philippines)? I’m having hard time doing it using Odin. I followed the instruction in one of the links here but it didn’t do any good. Your response is very much appreciated. Thank you so much! π
Please refer to this guide – https://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/14/how-to-restore-stock-firmware-on-samsung-galaxy-s2-video/
That’s the link I followed, does it matter how big or small the file I downloaded in xda? The file for the official firmware is just 8MB vs ICS LP2 634MB.
8MB size is stock kernel. Firmware is around 300MB in size.
Alright, can you please give me a link where I can get the official firmware for 2.3.6 ginger bread (philippines). Sorry to trouble you I’m new at this. thank you again. π
Look for DXKL3 firmware at XDA. π
Ok, once Im done with the procedure what do I need to do wtih the stock kernel? π
No need kernel, firmware will do.
Okay. Thank you, I’ll download it today hope it works well. π
Hi Jayce, I have successful installed it but im always getting an error:The Application google services framework has stopped unexpectedly please try again. What do I do now? Thanks!
Not sure it is bug by ROM itself or not because I did not test it. You can try to wipe data and cache with CWM.
This has been fixed. I can’t thank you enough for your help specially with the steps you have given. By the way I connected my phone in Kies and it shows this message: Your device does not support software upgrade via Kies, what will I do to have it updated in the feature via kies? Thank you again. π
You need to have official firmware in order to use Samsung Kies.
ok, even if I used the official firmware in xda? The one that you have given me…
You might need to change CSC in this case.

Hi Jayce greetings. I had flashed this ROM before but now I m back to the stock ROM and my binary counter show 6. Is is possible to reset the Binary counter even after upgrading to 4.0.3. I am curently on 2.3.6 (PDA-I9100XWKL1, PHONE-I9100DDKL1 & CSC shows unknown)
Yes. Use USB Jig. You might need to install old bootloader back if you installed new ICS bootloader.
