HyperDroid is not a stranger to me because of the famous weird LCD density on Android HTC HD2. The developer, pongster jumped ship to Samsung Galaxy S II. And bring along his best Android ROM. Here you are ~ Androidmeda HyperDroid ROM for Samsung Galaxy S2. The tagline ~ fast, functional and solid. The very first version of the ROM is based on XXKI3 Firmware (Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread). It is multi CSC, deodexed and zipaligned. Includes goodies like SIP over 3G, Jkay Deluxe Theme, EDT, BLN support, NTFS support, overclock, undervolt…

Note – This build does not include XXKI3 baseband. You will still have your previous existing baseband. No worry.
Do check out XDA for its themes and advanced scripts that more tweaks…
Installation guide ~ How to install firmware on Samsung Galaxy S2 with ClockworkMod Recovery?
Download Androidmeda HyperDroid v1.0.0 ROM here.
Have you tried this ROM Jayce .. sounds really interesting ..
Jayce im on XXKI3 .. Polish firm .. nor which .. Root should I install ?? im confused between the insecure and the secure one ?? .. which will be more stable ?? Im running the POLISH ROM with old bootloader .. wud really appreciate ur help on this ..
and after Rooting .. I just install the Rom u posted here .. and thats it right ?
I dont want any kinda these .. so flashing this ROM in CWM is all that is need to be done right ?
This ROM is an enhanced version of XXKI3.
CF-Root secure or insecure, if you don’t use ADB, it means nothing to you. Both also can.
Just instal it with CWM will do.
I mean I dont want any kinda themes ..
sorry for the typo ..
Jayce, just want to know which is the best ROM/firmware you have used/install?…i’m currently on stock xxki3 rom & kernel…tq
XXKI3 serves me well. I disable those unwanted stock applications with Titanium Backup. That’s all…
tq
I am new to android and rooting I have a G S2 coming and wish to gather the best app but I cant seem to download anything. What am I doing wrong
Download what?
The software for andromeda
Huh? Do you mean AndroidMeda HyperDroid firmware?
Hi Jayce
Does this ROM include root access, SuperUser, Busybox and CWM Recovery? I have already rooted with CF-Root (on KH3 stock ROM), can I just use the concomittant CWM manager to install it, and should I wipe the data and cache partition first?
Your blog is awesome. Must be easy to have a successful blog with such great entries, and being a SEO Consultant!
Yes, this ROM has these components. But no CF-Root CWM manager. I usually wipe data and cache before install a new ROM to get the best performance out of it.
Thx!
it seem tat u r not connect to pc,so how do i download firmware zip file to my phone and is tis version 2.3.5 or 2.3.4.thx
Just copy it like the way you copy MP3 or other type of files.
Refer to post for Android version.
can u explain more detail bcause i not good at com.
Huh? You want to use custom firmware but you don’t know how to copy file from PC to phone? Please refer to Galaxy S2 manual.
https://www.jayceooi.com/2011/07/17/download-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-user-manual/
yes sir
Can’t you download it with the link in the post?
Hi Jayce
I installed the Androidmeda-Hyperdroid ROM from the link you provided, all looks very good so far.
Only issue: when I go into settings -> about phone -> it says my Baseband version is XXKH3, not XXKI3?
For the rest it says:
Kernel version:2.6.35.7-Androidmeda-DNR-v1.0+luis@ubuntu #1
Build number: Androidmeda Hyperdroid Amazing Aquila v1.0.0
Guess that not wiping data and cache are causing this issue, right?
I did wipe data and cache; I made very sure of it.
All else seems to be there though. Previously I did not have Car Home, and now its there – I don’t think thats a Hyperdroid thing, surely its a KI3 thing? It wasn’t there on KH3.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, it is much appreciated!
Hmm… Maybe this HiperDroid firmware does not have XXKI3 baseband. I got it from official XXKH3 firmware (as I was coming from it).
Oh OK…so it does not refer to the firmware? Then all is fine?
Maybe I’ll upgrade to stock KI3 firmware, check that the system info says it is indeed KI3, and then upgrade to this ROM, and see what happens. Will let you know.
Shotz!
Nope, baseband == modem. You can have different version of baseband. No need to match firmware version exactly.
I am sorry to bother you but I am used to clicking on a link and it starting the process. I have a friend who is schooled in computers as a guru but I am trying to save data for him!
Sorry, I don’t understand…
hi ,jayce sry for my noob wat u mean is tat i first need to copy firmware zip file to my phone sd[anyfolder on sd]than follow ur videos.is the file 312mb. : )
Yes, copy firmware zip to sdcard.
Thank you for your courtesy Jayce and all the group.
why when i Press and hold down Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time.it juz stuck WARNING!! A custom OS can cause critical problem in phone and installed application. VOlume up: continue 2Volume down:cancel(restart phone)
Are you sure that you press volume up? It should load Recovery mode and not Odin download mode.
Hey does this ROM have the boot screen animation?
And when you do the quadrant test, you’re using the kernel that comes with the rom?
Yes. I did not modify anything.
Yes, if my memory serves me right.
It looks great but why is my firmware still on KH3? And not KI3?
Maybe this HiperDroid firmware does not have XXKI3 baseband. I got it from official XXKH3 firmware (as I was coming from it).
What do you mean?
Sorry, typo. It should be ‘I got it from official XXKI3 firmware’. My previous firmware was official XXKI3.
Hi Jayce, thanks for your wonderful site. Offers lots of info on SGS2.
I jus flash to tis hyperdroid 2.3.5 rom but now my baseband is showing as KI1. I previously on stock KI2 rom. Followed your advise to wipe both data & cache before flashing using CWM.
Any idea why the baseband is now KI1? And is it better to have KI3 baseband? TIA
Look like this HyperDroid does not flash baseband as everyone is getting the previous baseband. Not sure KI3 baseband better than KI1 or not…
Hi Jayce, I have the yellow ! mark now after flashing HyperDroid. I ordered a usb jib online too.
I have a few questions that I hope you can help advise
1. Can I flash the stock kernel for XXKI3 using Odin and root the phone using CF-Root for the same XXKI3? to remove the yellow ! mark? (on HyperDroid now, but showing KI1 instead)
2. Resetting the binary counter using the USB Jig, right after I flash the stock kernel in step 1?
1. Yes, you remove yellow triangle using CF-Root method but you will lost HyperDroid kernel.
2. No need to flash stock kernel if you have USB Jig. It can clear yellow triangle too.
My 2 cents, just wait for your USB Jig to arrive.
Thanks Jayce!
hi, jayce sry 4 all the mistake i made and i wan to say thank you for your understanding & patience. : ) Only issue: when I go into settings -> about phone -> it says my Baseband version is DXkf1, not XXKI3? any idea how to change my baseband version to XXKI3??
No worry, this firmware does not have XXKI3 baseband. I was coming from official XXKI3 firmware. So I have it.
oic! so does it make any different from my old baseband DXKF1 & XXKI3 on performance.
Baseband is the modem which I think control 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi connection… No sure about performance different as I don’t feel any changes from my previous baseband.
BRO,thank 4 ur quick reply & juz wan to say a big thank you 4 all ur wonderful advice,CHEERS…….
hello, i am a newbie, i want to ask some question.
1. can i install this rom to my htc hd2 ?
2. its all android rom compatible with htc hd2 ?
3. which rom is more stable for htc hd2 ?
Thank you.
1. No
2. No
3. https://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/02/top-android-2-3-5-gingerbread-nand-android-rom-for-htc-hd2/
Hi Jayce,
I am curerntly on XXKG6 2.3.4 stock kernel. Now my CWM does not boot to recovery mode because I flashed the stock kernel 2.3.4 to remove the yellow triangle. So the question now is that, how do I go about flashing this Hyperdroid ROM when I can’t boot to recovery mode?
Install CWM back. https://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/10/how-to-remove-yellow-triangle-on-samsung-galaxy-s2-without-usb-jig-video/
hi jayce, I’ve just rooted my phone. Before it seemed to connect fine to Kies and it showed up properly in Win 7. Now, Kies keeps telling me to reconnect the device in Samung Kies (PC Studio) mode – how do I get it into that mode?
Untick USB debugging.

hi jayce, just got my samsung galaxy s2, using the original 2.3.3 gingerbread.xwkf1, and the phone gets heat up pretty easily. wondering if i change to this custom rom will it reduce the heat issue? cause i read on some forum where people used 2.3.4 kg1 and it reduces their heat issue of the phone.
I am not sure about that. My phone only get heated when I play extreme 3D games. Normal usage no heat at all. Yours?
it happened for simple 2d games even
Hmm… Maybe you can consult Samsung Support on your issue. Mine don’t get heated at all on 2D games.
anyway jayce, i have installed this hyperdroid, but i scored only average 3.5k on quadrant standard. any ideas y?
Run few more time. You will get 4k too.
i ran it quite a few times, max i get is 3.8k . wonder isit any of my settings?
Nevermind la. 3.8k is very close to 4k. FYI, my benchmark ran right after I installed this firmware. So no other apps installed. Everything is stock including settings.
ic thanks, anyway my gps seems not working, used maps but it keep stating your current location is temporary unavailable, and accuweather app also unable to detect my current location. any idea?
Hmm… I did not test GPS on this firmware. But it should be working. Do make sure that you turn on GPS module in settings. Download aGPS data with https://market.android.com/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2 and test it see.
ok dl and tested, when i run the app, there is always this loading icon in the middle of the screen(dunno does that mean its working?). gps everything is on. but when i check my maps app, still states” your current location is temporary unavailable, same for my weather app still) although previous using 2.3.3 kf1 i could.
just to check with u, before i change to this rom, i upgraded my firmware to 2.3.5, ki3, following your guide(Download official Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread ROM for Samsung Galaxy S2 (Odin)).
when i changed to this rom, i still wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache partition. is it correct?
If got loading icon == GPS not locked yet. Try to use FasterFix to change the GPS region to yours. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.Double.FasterFix
Yes, wipe data and cache before install firmware is correct.
nvm jayce i manage to get it working, i wipe my data/factory reset & wipe cache partition again @ cwm & my gps work after that. got any idea what happened? lol so sorry to trouble u
Nope…
haha ok thanks anyway, one last question. when i wiped just now, my cwm is gone. but does that mean my phone is not longer rooted?i checked my system info everything is correct. just wondering
Do you mean CWM Manager app? CWM (boot) should be there.
Is SuperUser app there?
yah cwm manager app gone, i went andriod market to dl. yup superuser app is there.
It should be still rooted then.
Hi Jayce, When i click to download the file a big list appears and I dont know wich file I have to choose please help me on this one……….
Another question will be, Can I manage to activate the bluetooth protocols on a stock rom of the sgs2? without having to use a ASOP rom?
And one more thing this androidmeda will activate these protocols? or the villainRom does it?
Please check with ROM chef at XDA.
Hi Jayce, When i click to download the file a big list appears and I dont know wich file I have to choose please help me on this one……….????
