Package Content & Design
There are Textron Scorpion 3, user manual and extra free Armaggeddon Scorpion mouse mat in the package. Who don’t love freebie? Thanks Armaggeddon for the cool mouse pad.

No CD driver as expected. You need to download software driver from Armaggeddon Website. And the user manual will guide you to get started in no time.

Armaggeddon Scorpion 3 is considered a small and lightweight mouse to me. Build quality is decent with sturdy matte UV plastic on top and slightly glossy for yellow housing. Ergonomic is great for both hands. No thumb buttons by the way. Perfect and comfortable for fingertip grip. Left, right and including CPI buttons and scroll wheel can be accessed easily. The 1.8m ultra-durable braided cable with anti-interference magnet ring is very useful to connect to desktop PC on the floor. Alright, do refer to below photos for its design now…

Surprise! There is no glide pad at the bottom of the mouse. Just 3 plastic bumps that act like glide pad. Thankfully, it does not affect much when using it on mouse pad as it is lightweight mouse after all.

Software
Scorpion 3 is using 814 Armaggeddon Custom Optical Gaming Sensor just like Havoc 2. And using the same software driver as well. Therefore, it is getting the same functions and features. Firstly, it is plug and play supported. 3 macro-able buttons are configurable. Set Windows shortcuts, multimedia functions and macros that you want. Up to 6 sets of DPI can be set from as low as 200 to 4800 DPI. And set colour for each DPI too. Lastly, 5 profiles – Cfg 1 to 3, media and game for you to choose.

The Advanced and LED settings are the same too. Same apply to the macro manager.

Performance Result
814 Armaggeddon optical sensor performs well as expected – smooth and accurate. Yup, it is working correctly on multiple surfaces including slightly shinny and reflective ones. The optical sensor is located at center of the mouse is a great touch. Perfect as no new learning curve is needed at all. Ergonomic is great for a small and lightweight mouse. Perfect companion for laptop to carry around I must say. Buttons are clicky (a bit loud too) and feedback is good too thanks to durable Huano switches. Scroll wheel provides precise scrolling and good for both gaming and web browsing. Overall, Scorpion 3 performs well on daily usage. I do miss the thumb button though…

Advantages

  • Decent optical performance
  • Great ergonomic for comfortable grip
  • Adjustable CPI values
  • Customizable keys & LED lights
  • Stylish design
  • For left-handed too

Limitations

  • No thumb buttons, glide pads
  • Single DPI button

Conclusion
Armaggeddon Scorpion 3 is a nice solid budget gaming mouse no doubt. Everything is working as expected like customizable RGB lights, adjustable DPI and great ergonomic too. Suitable for left-handed as well. Interested? Do visit Armaggeddon Website for more information.
