Oh, no. I am on Fire! Hehe… I just got myself a Kindle Fire from Amazon. Not getting it from Amazon US directly since I want to have Kindle Fire as soon as possible (don’t want to wait for another 2 weeks shipping time). Therefore, I bought it from Lowyat Forum Malaysia locally. Kindle Fire will keep me busy for months because I got lot of stuffs to learn again. Hmm… I planned to get Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Asus Transformer Prime. But both of them are still not available in Malaysia. Have to wait until early next year. So I got a budget Android tablet ~ Kindle Fire instead…
Kindle Fire is not a perfect Android tablet. But it really shine for the price that you pay ~ $199. Not to mention that you can install Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on Kindle Fire in near future. In fact, there is a developer managed to get Android 4.0 ICS running on Kindle Fire already. And CyanogenMod 9 is waiting to be installed on it too.

Just got the tablet. Still discovering apps and games. But most of the games from Android phone are supported on Kindle Fire.

Kindle Fire do not allow vide0/ebook purchase out of USA. I tried to purchase with gift card/US credit card but it seemed to be able to detect my kindle fire in out of USA.

I think if you use original android ROM of your Kindle fire, you can’t make any book or app purchase, as they need credit card. On the website, there are people using the creditcard generator to generate US creditcard number and key into the website, it work to allow them to download the free app of the day. Anyway, I not doing it personally, but it a China blog that share the experience.
Another method for you to enjoy this might be port your ROM to CM7 / CM9, and install the android market Kindle app, and it do support download/buy book from amazon. But you can’t buy app in this way. Anyway, you can buy from Android Market, or Google Play market. 🙂
