Yeah… Google just released a new version of Android Market. It will be rolling out in the coming weeks to Android 2.2 and higher phones around the world. You don’t need to do anything because the update is automatic on supported phones. Hmm… Will it update on custom ROM like Android HTC HD2? Anyway, I can’t wait for that and downloaded the new Android Market apk. The new Android Market is faster, easier, and more fun to discover great apps, movies, and books. And added new collections of great content, like staff picks and Editors’ Choice apps. Try it for yourself…
Download new Android Market apk here.
I just have a test it. Everything are fine, great new UI, very fast but
I got a “Force Close” error when I try to install a program from Market.
I am using Android 2.3.4
HyperDroid-CM7-v2.1.0-HeadyHoneybadger-MAGLDR-signed.zip
Same happen here.
jayce,
after installed open it, force closed.how to fix or revert back?
Just uninstall it will do.
Does the new android market still have the Just In Category for Apps and Games?
I just installed – the Just In Category has been take off. Now, we won’t be able to know what new apps are just released. And for the developer – it is also bad, they won’t be able to get a chance of exposing their new apps to the public.
I kinda got the same crash problem with the new market .. Im using an hd2 android and after the market installs i cant run it .. it crashes.. Is there a way to fix this ?
Using Android 2.3.4
TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 v3.2.1 NAND Android A2SD+
Uninstall it and wait for ROM chef to cook the new Android Market in the ROM.
Thanx .. will do ..
I prefer the old app market. Although google claims the new market improves app discoverability – it is not true. It only lists the top apps in each category. You won’t know if there are any new apps. The old app market is better because it has the Just In category – so you will know if there are new apps.
To prevent the market from auto-updating, just follow the instructions here:
