Packaging and Design
Both of them come well-protected in a nice package. There are 2 colours to choose from – black and white. And you will get all the accessories to match the colour you selected. Nice, right?
There are charging case, USB-C cable, user manual and 2 additional pair of ear tips. As usual, take your time to go through the guide.
Build quality is great for the price. It is loaded with sturdy plastic housing. The black one has glossy surface while the white one is matte. Compact in size and light in weight. As usual, do check out all the photos for their design and outlook.
Fit, Comfort & Isolation
Fit is great even with oval bore tip design. Just make sure you use the correct ear tip for perfect seal. Comfort is decent as well. Compact and lightweight do a nice job here. Don’t forget the IPX4 support that is great for sports activities. As for passive isolation, it is decent. It does block some of the environment noises while music is being played. Note – Q3 is slightly larger than Q1 due to the driver size.
Performance Result
Excellent ANC performance for the price. Budget ANC earbuds are getting better no doubt. It can filter out ambient noises like engine from airplane, train and so on. You won’t hear them much when playing music with ANC turned on. Besides ANC, transparent mode that increases environment sound is also supported.
Outstanding Bluetooth range for TWS earbuds. It can go up to 8m+ with obstacles like walls. Connection is very stable too. AAC audio codec is supported and it has lower latency than the usual SBC codec. Don’t forget that it is loaded with 60ms low latency. Yes, audio and video are virtually in sync that great for movie, games and MV.
Based on specs, Q1 has 4 hours music playback and extra 12 hours with the charging case. Q3 is 6 hours + 18 hours. Phone call experience is great thanks to ENC. Others can hear me loud and clear.
Sound Quality
SonicGear TWS Q1 comes with 10mm drive size while Q3 is loaded with 13mm driver size. Both of them have almost the same sound signature. Clean treble with extra bass. Sound excellent for the price. Highs are clean and clear. Vocals for both female and male sound natural. Bass is deep and powerful.
Q3 sounds better than Q1. It is crisper and gets even more bass. Still in control and does not affect treble. Q1 soundstage is decent while Q3 is slightly wider. Personally, I will go for Q3 since their price is not much different.
