Package Content & Design
There are Remote+ controller, USB receiver and user manual in the package. Build quality of Remote+ is great. And it fits comfortably on my hand too. Besides the usual buttons like power, home, menu, okay, back, directional arrow, volume up & down, there are mic button, microphone itself, mode switching, mute and gaming buttons (A, B, X & Y). By the way, there is a LED light just below the gaming buttons. As usual, do refer to all the photos for better understanding.
Performance Result
PROBOX2 Remote+ wireless range is superior. Easily exceeds 10m Wi-Fi range in straight sight line with no obstacle. Rest assures that you can control your TV box from far way while enjoying movie on your big sofa in the living room. You don’t want a remote that fail to control your media player or computer, right? Yup, Remote+ is working perfectly on all my Android TV boxes (non-PROBOX2 devices too) and PC that runs Windows 10.
PROBOX2 Remote+ works great as standard remote control. All the functions are working properly and buttons’ feedback is good. One thing that I like – short press power button will suspend your Android TV (if supported). And long press will bring up reboot option screen to let you power off. Another thing that you need to adapt – the OK button is not in the middle of directional pad. So there is a learning curve to get used to it. Finally, the mic is working fine and Google has no problem to understand my voice to find the stuffs that I want.
Air mouse is working smooth and accurate thanks to six-axis gyroscope and accelerometer. And working properly on both Android and Windows here. Finally, I can play Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope and Angry Birds type of games on my Android TV box. Yup, Remote+ surely makes my TV box much more productive now.
Gaming mode is a mixed bag. It is great when you can get it to work on your games. Asphalt 8 Airborne, AirAttack 2, Dan The Man and PAC-MAN are some of the games that Remote+ fully supported. Both directional pad and action buttons are working properly. However, I managed to get direction pad working only on certain games and not the buttons. Same apply to gyroscope. If the Android games supports customize-able gamepad buttons, Remote+ should work properly then. Else better get a real gamepad for your games.
