do you have to have root for this to work?
Yes.
Hi, so i had fixed up everything on my kindle and i was running Cm7 gingerbread but i wanted to try the ICS CM9. I formatted my Sd card. and i tried installing the zip like before but I just get thrown back into the TWRP menu. Do i need to install something, or use the KF Utility?
Just follow the installation process here will do. Which CM9 ROM are you trying?
The Energy Cm9 one you just posted about. I tried reloading the cm7 but its not loading the zip file.
CM7 ROM is not working for you now too?
It’s not. Everything happens the same as in the video except i get taken back to the TWRP menu.
Is it that I’m booting in Recovery mode?
Might be. Try this – https://www.jayceooi.com/2011/12/24/how-to-solve-boot-loop-issue-on-kindle-fire-twrp-2-0/
I saw this, I’m not the most technical. I don’t get the Command prompt. I have it up i found the adb.exe but i type adb shell and i get. Adb not recognized……..
Or you can try KFU. Make it boot to normal (4000).
Ok, I tried that as well and its just stuck on Activating Normal (4000) then does nothing.
I must be a bother, I’m sorry. If you have nothing else to recomend then i totally understand. thanks for the help.
Since KFU does not work for you. Use back adb method. Learn how to use command prompt first.
Figured out the command prompt. Everything is all good now. Again I thank you for everything you do.
I’m totally freaking out! I followed all directions and now it won’t boot at all! It’s stuck at the yellow triangle! Please help me. I’ve pressed the power button until it turns orange and nothing happens…I’ve left it alone for 10 minutes and nothing happens. What do I do???
